The **VMU Browser** app is a powerful virtual memory card and save management application, written specifically for the **VMUPro. **It allows you to easily manage your virtual memory cards and their contents, while using a familiar user interface that shows the save icons and context menus.

The **VMU Browser **app is also able to transfer files between the **VMUPro **and other VMUs through the Maple port at the top of the device, or exchange data wirelessly with other **VMUPro **devices!

## VMC List View

When you launch the VMU Browser, the application will scan your microSD card and list your stored Virtual Memory Cards (VMCs) in alphabetical order.

The VMUPro lets you create virtually unlimited VMCs. Each one is a full 200 blocks, which can be used like a regular Sega VMU on your Dreamcast. You can also create up to 99 channels per VMC, each channel being its own 200 block virtual VMU.

The VMUPro also lets you create a new VMC specific to each of your games.
By reading the VMU graphics from games (**DisplayID**), or using software such as OpenMenu (**GameID**), the VMUPro can automatically detect which game you are playing, and load or create the appropriate VMC.

See: \[[Setting Up OpenMenu](docId\:rzQEU70zKNyi6dZPYTDVk)], \[[Importing Saves](docId\:DPNpCe1i6GcLc5m3TU5rr)], \[[VMU2VMU](docId\:zYyQ1BKBmiRfmE7XD8O9z)]

Note: You can disable this feature if you like all of your saves all in one place. \[[Settings](docId:4G3X5T_toaMnRIwX3GUyu)]

As you scroll through the list, the footer area will show various details about the selected VMC, including the folder on your microSD, how many free blocks there are, the channel number (1-99) and whether or not it is mounted.

## VMC List Options

Pressing the **"Mode" **button on this screen, will bring up the Virtual Memory Card Context Menu.

The Context menu presents the following options:

- **Mount**
Your Dreamcast will see this VMC when the VMUPro is docked in the controller. You can mount a new VMC before docking or while mounted by using the **Function Buttons**. See \[[Basic Usage](docId\:WGa-vJ3QF4QI-c9YQjrzU)].
- **New VMC**

See \[[Importing Saves](docId\:DPNpCe1i6GcLc5m3TU5rr)] for details on creating your own entries.
- **New Channel**
Creates a new, empty channel for the current VMC. For example "MySaves-2", "MySaves-3", etc.
