the vmu browser app is a powerful virtual memory card and save management application, written specifically for the vmupro it allows you to easily manage your virtual memory cards and their contents, while using a familiar user interface that shows the save icons and context menus the vmu browser app is also able to transfer files between the vmupro and other vmus through the maple port at the top of the device, or exchange data wirelessly with other vmupro devices! vmc list view when you launch the vmu browser, the application will scan your microsd card and it will list the stored virtual memory cards in alphabetical order by name the box next to the vmc name displays the number of stored channels that the vmc has each channel is a whole "virtual memory card", or what the dreamcast console would see as a whole memory card, which can contain up to 200 blocks of saves this essentially allows you to store an endless amount of blocks in the form of multiple virtual memory cards when you use the directional pad to change your selection, you will notice that the bar at the bottom left of the display will change to show how many blocks out of the total have been used in the virtual memory card in the image above for example, 22 blocks have been used out of 200 total finally, the numbers on the right display the current virtual memory card index out of the total number of virtual memory cards pressing the "mode" button on this screen, will bring up the virtual memory card context menu the context menu presents the following options new vmc creates a new virtual memory card and channel new channel creates a new channel for the selected virtual memory card clone channel copies the currently selected virtual memory card channel and its contents to a new channel in the selected virtual memory card delete deletes the virtual memory card and all its channels this is an irreversible action! vmu2vmu initiates the vmu2vmu transfer to receive saves from another vmu connected via the maple bus port vmc contents view when you press the "a" button to select a virtual memory card, you will be taken to the vmc contents view here you can see the saves stored inside the virtual memory card, as well as manage individual saves the vmc contents view is comprised on the following elements the top toolbar the top toolbar shows the name of the virtual memory card at the top left side, as well as the curretly selected channel at the top right side the contents view the contents view displays the contents of the selected virtual memory card and channel each square represents a save file that can take up a number of blocks the highlighted save is displayed with a white rectangle you can move the selection using the directional pad the selected information the bottom of the view displays the number of blocks that the selected save occupies withing the virtual memory card, as well as information about the file, such as the save name, filename, save date etc to see the available actions for each file, press the "a" button a context menu will pop up the available options are described below view in evmu this option loads the virtual memory card in the evmu emulator, to present the contents in a classic timeless view copy this option copies the file to the clipboard cut this option cuts the file to the clipboard paste if there is a file copied or cut to the cliipboard, the paste option transfer the save to the new virtual memory card a "copy" and then "paste" will make a copy of the file to the destination, while a "cut" and then "paste" will move the file to the new destination serial send this option begins the transfer of the selected save file to another vmu connected through the maple bus port beam transfer this option begins a wireless transfer of the selected save file to another vmupro (option will be available through a software update) delete this option will delete the selected save file from the virtual memory card this action is irreversible! the virtual memory card options menu when inside the vmc contents view, you can press the "mode" button to access the options menu this menu allows you to switch channel choosing this option will present the option to switch to another channel if one exists, create a new channel, or create a new channel by cloning the current channel vmu2vmu initiates the vmu2vmu transfer to receive saves from another vmu connected via the maple bus port to the active virtual memory card
