Expansion Audio

1min

The Expansion Audio is a special mode that allows some Famicom Games to use more audio channels than normal for a better audio experience.

To enable expansion audio, simply flip the dip switch "EXP6" (middle) on the NES HUB to the "on" position. If your NES HUB has a yellow film over the dip switch module, it is safe to remove this.

If you already have an expansion audio mod installed in your console, leave all switches to the OFF position.

If you have other mods installed that already make use of the EXP6 pin, you can use either the EXP2 or EXP9 switch to enable expansion audio, providing that your cartridge supports them. Please refer to your cartridge's manufacturer instructions to determine if this is possible.
