Installation Instructions
Unpack the upgrade kit from its packaging. You should have:
- The NES HUB main board
- A flexible wireless antenna with cable and an IPEX connector
Follow the instructions below to install the kit to your NES-001 console:
Turn your console over to gain access to the expansion port. This is protected by a plastic cover as in the picture below:
- Remove the plastic cover by pressing both sides and lifting up.
At this point you may either be looking at the expansion port itself, or a second protective cover. If you see another cover, you will need to remove it by snapping the connection points with a small side-cutter. Once you've done that, you should be looking at the expansion port itself.
Take the NES HUB out of its packaging and remove the protective cover from the expansion port connector by lifting it up and away from it. Your NES HUB should be like in the picture below:
Connect the NES HUB to the expansion port by aligning it and firmly pressing down with your thumbs around the middle of the NES HUB. The NES HUB will slide in. There will be no "clicks" but you will feel it stop. Stop pressing when it won't go any further.
- Take the antenna and connect the small IPEX connector to the module marked "ESPRESSIF". Align it over the connector and gently press down. You can route the wire through the channel to the back of the console. Peel the stickers off the flexible antenna and stick it to the back of your console.
- This concludes the installation. You can now turn your console over and power it on. If everything went well, a light will start pulsing from the side of the console, which means that the BlueRETRO software is ready to connecto to a controller!
