the settings section of the vmupro os allows you to configure your device preferences, and perform system actions the settings menu is categorised as follows each category has a sub menu with actions you can perform wi fi this allows you to connect or disconnect to your wi fi network vmu options options relating to either use while connected to the dreamcast or when playing dreamcast vmu mini games permissions options to set third party application permissions power settings for power saving modes, sleep and turning off time settings relating to the vmupro internal clock system system wide settings and actions wi fi settings the wi fi setting allows you to disconnect or connect to your stored wi fi network if you skipped the wi fi setup step during the first time setup, selecting the "connect" option will launch the wi fi setup guide, which will allow you to associate your vmupro to a wi fi network vmu options enable gameid (enabled by default) this option allows the vmupro to receive a gameid code from dreamcast (usually available through optical drive emulators like mode and gdemu w/ openmenu) disabling this option will disable the gameid detection feature for odes enable displayid (enabled by default) this option allows the vmupro to identify a running game based on the graphics it sends to the vmupro while not as accurate as the gameid option, it can still detect about 80% of the available dreamcast games disabling this option will disable displayid based detection note gameid takes priority over displayid when both are enabled pixel scaling (5x default setting) this option will scale the size of the display graphics and vmu mini games by n times using integer scaling the default vmu graphics are 48x32 pixels, and you can scale these all the way up to pixel effect (disabled by default) this option creates a pixellated effect that resembles more the way the original vmu used to show graphics more effective in higher scaling modes use system time (disabled by default) this option allows the vmu mini games to use the vmupro's internal clock time disabling this option will make the evmu emulator beep when booting and ask for the current date and time load last card (enabled by default) this option will make the vmupro load the last mounted vmc and channel when booting up (please note that this does not affect the mounted card when booting up from deep sleep with the sleep button) write protection (enabled by default) disabling this option will make the vmupro always report no write protection to the dreamcast for all saves it essentially allows you to transfer saves that would normally be write protected within the dreamcast bios save on exit (default option "always") this option refers to the evmu emulator and how to handle pending data when quitting it through the menus permissions network (default option "ask") this setting limits the network permissions for third party vmupro apps "ask" will cause the vmupro to bring up a dialog when an app or game attempts to access the network for the first time and ask for confirmation "always" will allow network access without asking for permission and "never" will prevent apps and games from accessing your network power screen dim (default 1m) this setting determines the time after which the vmupro display will dim its brightness to save power, after becoming idle you can disable this by selecting the "off" option this setting has no effect in docked mode screen off (default 2m) this setting determines the time after which the vmupro display will turn off to save power the time is in addition to the "screen dim" option this setting has no effect in docked mode auto sleep (default 10m) this setting determines the time after which the vmupro will automatically enter deep sleep the time is in addition to the "screen dim" and "screen off" options this setting has no effect in docked mode auto off (default 60m) this setting determines the time after which the vmupro will automatically shut down the time is in addition to the previous options this setting has no effect in docked mode time set automatically (default on) this setting allows the vmupro to automatically sync with a time server when connected to the internet it will use your router's ntp server configuration by default if any, or fall back to using ntp org if no internet is available, this setting will be disabled set manually entering this menu will allow you to manually set the current time of the vmupro making any changes in this screen will disable the "set automatically" option if enabled 24 hour time (default off) this option will alternate between 24 hour mode and pm/am mode it immediately affects the way the time is displayed on the toolbar allow dc time (default off) this option allows the dreamcast to set the time of the vmupro through a command disabling this option will prevent the dreamcast from changing the vmupro time system check for updates this option will launch the software updater this option is only available when connected to the internet system information this option will show information about the operating system and your device, such as os version, serial number, assigned ip address and mac address audio volume this option allows you to change the audio volume of the device this adjusts the volume both when using the onboard speaker and when using external usb headphones or speakers uncap volume (default off) this option allows you to unlock the maximum audio level output for the onboard speaker and / or usb connected headphones and speakers warning speaker and / or hearing damage may occur when listening to high audio levels for prolonged periods of time only use this setting if absolutely necessary and only if your external headphones or speakers have their own volume level adjustments! brightness this option allows you to adjust the brightness of the vmupro, with levels between 1 10 this setting has no effect when in docked mode (docked mode has a separate brightness adjustment) swap a+b buttons this setting swaps the a and b buttons, so a becomes b and b becomes a for all button presses this is helpful when you want to play a game for example when the swapped position would fit the gameplay better enable usb audio this setting enables usb audio output once pressed you can connect your usb c headphones, a usb c bluetooth audio dongle or usb c speakers and usb c to jack connector adapters please note that as of the current firmware version, only the uac 1 0 protocol is supported uac 2 0 devices will not work with this mode, although it is something we are working on enable obs streaming this setting enables real time streaming of the dreamcast vmu graphics and vmu mini games through the use of a usb c cable connected to a host computer running the obs streaming application please note that you will require the vmupro streaming plugin in order to be able to see the device in obs restart vmupro this option will restart your vmupro factory reset this option will erase all configuration settings and options from your vmupro, disassociate it from any wi fi networks and restart it please note that no data on the microsd card will be lost by doing this
